Spring is almost upon us and with that comes the excitement at the softball fields. We are anxious for the season to start. We have had many exciting updates and upgrades over the fall and winter.
In addition to updating the recreational league rules of play, two new pads have been poured for batting cages in between Fields 2 and 3. We are also very excited to be hosting 5 fast pitch tournaments this season including the Caleb Wasson Memorial NSA tournament and the Indiana State “B” Tournament over July 4th weekend. This is a wonderful opportunity for our softball league.
Please keep in mind some very important dates. Recreational league evaluations will be held for all girls playing 10U on Saturday, March 6th and evaluations for players 12U and older will be held on Sunday, March 7th at HSE High School. Please check the softball website for specific details and times. It is very important for the players to attend. Players 8 years and younger will not be evaluated. All coaches will be attending training sessions on Saturday, March 20th from 3-5pm and Sunday, March 21st from 1-3pm at FJHS. Most importantly, mark your calendar for Opening Day on Saturday, April 24th. Join us for a fun-filled day of games, food and prizes. Teams will play exhibition games and have their team pictures taken. Please plan to spend the day at the fields.
We are excited to announce that we will be fielding multiple teams in the 16/18U Rec. League for the 2010 Season. Any high school-aged young ladies interested in playing, but have not yet registered, may still do so at the S.P.O.R.T.S office. Player evaluations will take place on Sunday, March 07 from 3:00 – 4:30pm at the HSE High School Auxiliary Gym.
